Review of Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle by Tom Venuto
As one of the most popular muscle building and fat loss books sold on the Internet, it’s no wonder that people want to know if it really works and can work for them. With all of the promises that many fitness books offer, you want to know if the book can live up to its promises BEFORE you buy it.
Created by Tom Venuto, Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle is an interesting blend of intentions. There are two main goals that Venuto hopes to accomplish with his readers: teaching them how to lose weight and teaching them how to gain muscle. This two pronged approach makes sense because when you burn fat from your body, the muscles you are building will be easier to see and appreciate.

When you head to Venuto’s website to find out more information about the eBook, you will be greeted by a long sales letter that details the contents of the book. You will also be offered some free information for simply giving your email address to the site. Starting with these free materials is a good idea as you will get a sense of Venuto’s writing style as well as his methods. His style is aggressive and bold, but then again, that’s what it takes to create a muscle building program that works – doesn’t it?
Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle is an extensive book, weighing in at over three hundred pages of solid advice and well-researched tips. You can easily download and print this from your home computer so that you can refer to it whenever you need to go back to it or you can print out the sections that apply to you specifically and create your own personalized muscle building learning experience.
There are eight different sections in Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle that can help you reach any muscle building goals that you might have:
-
Introduction – This is a standard introduction meant to get you excited about the program as well as laying out the general guidelines that will be followed. Venuto does a tremendous goal of helping a reader feel like this is truly the only book for them. But unlike other eBooks, Venuto also stresses that his book is not about to offer quick fixes. You are going to have to work hard, but at least you have the answers you need.
- Goal Setting, Strategies, and Motivation – Just as with any plan, Venuto understands that the reader needs to create clear set goals that they can reach. Sure, a lot of people have written about goal setting and strategies to make goal setting work for them, but Venuto’s explanations are easy to follow and truly effective.
- Body Types, How to Identify What You Need – Everyone is different, and Venuto understands this as well. By taking the time to look at the different body types that are out there, the reader will be able to create a program that’s perfect for their individual body. Instead of trying to match a person to a program, Venuto explains that the program needs to be fit to the person – and that’s solid advice that’s based in the idea of personal training: everyone’s workout needs to be constructed just for them.
- Meal Frequency and Macro Nutrients – Creating a diet that’s both effective and delicious has never been an easy process. But with Venuto’s advice in this section, readers will finally get the basic information about how food works in the body and how they can get food to work for them.
- Liquids and Actual Food Plans – Instead of giving you basic eating advice, Venuto has carefully outlined what a reader should and should not eat. Too often, muscle building readers want to fill their diets with unhealthy things that they’ve ‘heard’ might help. Venuto breaks down this misinformation by detailing the food plans that will really work for the reader.
- Supplements – The honesty that Venuto infuses into his writing is impressive. It would have been easy for him to recommend some supplements to his readers, but he understands that these advertised supplements aren’t going to help the serious muscle building reader. By going over the truth about the most popular supplements, the reader gets an insider’s view of why supplements look great but do little to help their body.
- Cardio and Weight Training – In this section, Venuto outlines specific plans for exercise that the beginning weight lifter and advanced weight lifter can use. And unlike so many other programs, he also talks about the importance of cardio training in addition to lifting weights. By taking the time to properly exercise the body, readers will be able to get a symmetrical body structure as well as promote their health.
- Appendix – This is simply a reference guide of numbers on muscle building and exercise. It’s interesting to read once you’ve gotten started on the program.
Overall, Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle is a compelling guide that will help reader lose the excess weight on their bodies as well as build the muscle they want to build. Venuto’s detail and careful explanations are really what sell this book to a reader, but the effectiveness of the routines and diet plans are the strongest argument for buying this book.
This is a plan that works.
